Aunt Mable, came to visit with her daughter, Phillis. They made the trip from Florida because Mable will be 98 years old in a couple days.
We only gave her two candles because it was easier to do the math (100-98=2). Next year she will only get one candle.
Watching her forced the question: What will I be like if I make it to 98? Will I be as spry? Will I be as sassy? Will I give as good as I get?
I recently saw a small figurine that is intended as a gift for an older gentleman. The front of the little trinket said, “Birthdays are good for your health. The more you have, the longer you live.”
I’m thinking I’ll shoot for the 98 mark.
