I had to agree. And I love it. Last year at this time we were under a burn ban. Fireworks displays were being canceled. Grass was dry to the point of becoming tinder and no one wanted to take the chance. Trees were dying and it was very, very hot.
This year, we have so much water that my friend’s trees are starting to develop a mildew. Very few people are using irrigation systems and the yards are as green as I’ve seen in many summers.
Of course, all this can change; it is Indiana, after all. We have plenty of time to go from abundant hydration to bone dry.
But in the mean time, I’m enjoying the rain while we have it.
