Day 323 – Finding Normal

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThere is an imbalance in our house. It requires a delicate approach and deft handling.

I bought my dog a bed.  The cat wants the bed.  The dog is afraid of the cat.  The cat gets the bed.  I kick the cat out of the bed.  The dog quickly climbs in the bed.  Balance restored.  Dog gets out of bed to sniff possible food dropped in kitchen.  Cat reclaims bed.  I no longer care.  Cat wins.

Thus is life.  People can go to bat for you, they can help you with your battles.  But if you return to pestering the bully, you are going to get beat up.  You have no one to blame but yourself.

You can hit the gym all you want, lift 100’s of pounds and run until you can no longer feel your legs.  But if you eat like a pig the other 23 hours a day, you will never lose the weight.  You have no one to blame but yourself.

You can pray for a higher power to step in.  You can meditate all you want.  You can burn incense and ring your chimes of feng shui (it’s a real thing, look it up).  But if you live in chaos and surround yourself with crazy, you will suffer the emotional and spiritual ramifications.  You have have no one to blame but yourself.

Will you sleep on the pillow of peace and harmony or chase the scents of table scraps?
